Our OEM and board-level cameras offer a high degree of flexibility and customization. These cameras are designed for implementation into customized embedded vision solutions. Their space-saving and lightweight design without conventional camera housings makes them an ideal choice for applications where space and weight constraints are critical factors. The absence of a camera housing makes it essential to follow specific handling rules to protect the sensitive hardware components.
Here are the most important aspects to consider:
Protect against ESD
In OEM or board-level cameras, the electronics of the camera are not protected. Please follow known and established rules to avoid electromagnetic discharge (ESD) each time you handle the camera modules.
Verify voltage and polarity
Before connecting the camera, always check the voltage and polarity of the supply power. Avoid overvoltage and reversed polarity.
Sensor surface care
Do not touch the unprotected sensor surface with fingers or any hard tool to avoid contaminating and/or damaging (scratches or cracks) the sensor surface.
Heat management
Running a camera module without proper heat management can lead to irreparable damage. Always ensure that you have the prescribed heat management system in place. lf you are uncertain about this topic, feel free to contact us for specific heat management instructions.
We have compiled all essential information for the safe handling of your OEM and board level camera in a Handling Guideline.
